Photo Gallery

I just put a photo gallery in the Members’ area, my first. Everything is such a learning experience. Some of the photos are snaps from the most photogenic frames of my videos, and some I shot myself using a tripod and the timer on my little camera, but all of them show off some aspect of my silky hair.

I should be able to post a new gallery like this about once a week. With any luck I can get a friend to help me, and maybe even hire a photographer on occasion to really make the photos stunning. Not that all my photos aren’t stunning enough already…

Don’t fret about that trim

It’s really a win-win situation. I’ll only be taking a half-inch off, which compared with the length of my hair, is almost nothing. Even if I were to take an inch off, you wouldn’t miss that hair, because it’s so fine at the ends that it’s almost invisible. I’ll show you afterwards how much came off, which will be next to nothing.

Yet it will look so much neater afterwards, and easier for me to manage. There will be much less tangling at the ends. So better videos in the future.

And for those of you who are looking forward to watching me cut my hair, you’ll get a video and photos out of it. Bonus!

I will be trimming my hair on New Years Day, watch for it!

Oiling my hair

The ends of my hair are old, probably 7 years old or more. Old hair can get dry. Even if there were a way for the hair oils on the scalp to evenly distribute themselves throughout the hair, the sheer length makes that unlikely to happen. My scalp tends to get oily and the oil stays up there, taunting me to wash it.

Longhaired ladies know that a trace of oil can do wonders toward making the ends feel healthier and less tangly. In this video I am oiling my hair with a touch of jojoba, a light oily liquid which makes the hair feel wonderful when used in discreet quantities. At other times I melt some cocoa butter in and add a touch of fragrance oil, mmm…

The full-size full-length video is of course available in the members area.

Time for a trim

People ask me if I’ve ever cut my hair in my life, which seems silly to me. Hair grows at a rate of about 6″ per year. Last time I just let it grow it was almost down to my knees before I got tired of it and cut it. It was still growing at that point, but of course these people didn’t know me then.

Imagine if I’d let it keep growing. It would be 10′ long now…

Part of the problem is that like many longhairs, I have a bit of a fear of styling salons and haircutters on missions. I like my hair long, but regardless of how little I say I want taken off, the stylist with the fried hair may have a different idea of how much I really need to have cut off.

My fear goes back to a half-inch trim that turned out to be 6″. I wanted to cry.

But anyway, not only are my ends getting see-through, but they’re starting to tangle. So I’ll be doing a half-inch trim on New Year’s Day, and I’ll be posting a video of the procedure for members (and purchasers) to see.

Talk to you soon.

Look what I got!

It’s a chest to put all my hair toys, jewelry, and accessories in. It’s not an antique, but it looks a lot like one. It’s intended to be a jewelry chest, but you know what I’m going to be using it for.

The top lifts up to reveal a deep tray where I can keep brushes and combs handy. On the underside of the lid is a mirror, though I won’t be needing that.

When you watch my new videos and call for cam, you’ll see this right next to me. In fact, in the off-chance you were to buy me any of the gifts on my (hint, hint) Wishlist Page, that’s where I’d keep them—in these very velvet-lined drawers. I’m stoked! It makes a longhaired girl want to run out and buy hair toys!

Washed my hair

I like to wash my hair every couple of days, but sometimes I don’t have time. Lately I’ve been spending all my time working on this site. The hours just seem to slip away, and next thing I know, it’s too late to wash it, or I’ll have to go to bed with wet hair.

Finally I got around to it late this afternoon.

I step into the shower and under the spray. I feel the hair, heavy, clinging to my thighs. With hot water running down my face, through my hair, and splashing down onto the floor, I reach for the bottle. I fill my palm with the creamy liquid and spread it through my scalp, then down through the length of my hair, refilling my palm as necessary. I massage my scalp, rub and scrub it, then down from the roots to the ends. I splash a little water on my head, thinning the coating and penetrating. I let water run across, down through my hair again, rinsing until all the hair is squeaky clean. I repeat with a different product…mmm…

See you soon!

Sleeping with long hair

Long hair like mine, that is…

When my hair was even longer than this, back in the bad old days when I didn’t know how to put it up - except for one type of bun that made my scalp hurt - I used to wear it in a braid all the time. After I washed my hair and it dried enough to handle it, I would put it in a braid, and leave it that way, day and night, until the time came to wash it again.

I don’t know if this sounds boring to you. It certainly was boring for me, not the least of which because a long braid like that was definitely not stylish. But when your hair is long like that, you often have to braid or put it up in order not to get it tangled on clothes hangers while shopping, etc.

I know that a lot of longhaired ladies braid their hair to protect it while they’re sleeping. Back then I used to wake up sleeping on or tangled in the rope that was my braid, having to sit up to pull it free before I could get back to sleep. You simply cannot imagine how annoying this was to me. This was one of the main reason why I cut my hair and didn’t decide to grow it really long again until recently.

When my hair finally reached waist length and I discovered internet longhair communities and support groups, I decided that I wasn’t going to wear it to bed in a braid. At first it was alright sleeping in it loose, but as it got a couple of inches longer than my waist, it started to wrap itself around my body and neck as I tossed and turned. Now that was really hard to disentangle from myself without tearing the hair. Aaaiiieee!!!

A few times I put my hair into two braids. Nope, too time consuming when I’m ready to hit the sack and pass out. For a while I tried to bun on top of the head, but the bun tended to dislodge as my head turned on the pillow, loosening the hairpins and pulling on the scalp. Ouch!

Then I found I could put it in a braid starting at the top of my head and let the braid hang over the pillow and down toward the floor. I heard at about the same time that long hair can itself hang over the top of the pillow like that, without any braiding or ties. So I tried it and it works, for now.

In the future, as my hair grows longer, I may need to make a special rack to hang the hair over, so it doesn’t actually drag on the floor. Some sort of a headboard might do it. Hmmm, now you can imagine me sleeping with my hair draped over the top of the pillow and hanging loosely, almost reaching the floor…

Latest site news

The site is almost done! I’ve got a members area with streaming and downloadable videos finished. Individual video series are available for purchase.

I’m shopping for cool and sexy clothes to wear while combing my hair on cam and video. Does that count as site news?
